We had planned on leaving on New Year’s Day; however, due to some strong storms moving in, we decided to wait another day before leaving. We were up and ready to go by 7:00 am. We entered the Fort Loudon Locks at 7:30 and then we were on our way!
My sister, Shelia, is traveling on this trip with us. We also have a friend (Tracy) from our marina who is traveling with us in his boat, Miss Michelle. He will travel with us until we get to Dog River Marina in Mobile. We are both having some work done to our boats, but he will probably be there a little longer than us. Shelia is helping him with some of the driving since he is going solo on his trip.
We went through two locks today including Watts Bar Dam. It was getting dark by the time we reached our anchorage at Spivey Light and the wind was fierce. We finally got set up and James grilled Chicken Fajitas for dinner. Our total trip for the day was approximately 13 hours with 10.5 hours being underway. We covered approximately 86 nautical miles. There is an app that we are using, along with some of our boating friends, called Nebo. It allows you to track friends as they travel. You can get the app by going to http://nebo.global/ and download the app to your phone. Once you sign up, just search for Miss Tenn~A~Sea or James or Becky Garrison and send us a friend request.
I will try to add to our blog daily; however, there are a lot of dead cell signal areas and we don’t have internet at times. I have also been sick the past few days and most likely have Covid. Shelia is helping me get some photos of our journey.
