We started our day with a beautiful sunrise. I captured a photo of Tracy’s boat with the sun rising behind him. We left Ingalls Harbor Dock in Decatur, AL around 6:30 am (CST). Our first lock of the day was Wheeler Dam. We did a Facebook Live video feed locking through. The lockmaster told us they were doing work on the next Lock (Wilson Dam) so we called them and they said it would probably be around 6:00 pm before we could lock through. We canceled our reservation at Aqua Yacht Harbor Marina and contacted Florence Marina to book a transient slip since they were just a couple miles past Wilson Dam. We arrived at Wilson Dam around noon. The lockmaster had us tie up to a barge until they could get us through. We were only there a short time when the lockmaster radioed to tell us they were going to go ahead and lock us through. Whew! This was great news! We didn’t have to sit there for 6 hours all day. Scott & Sheree Daley caught up to us at the Locks. They are helping the new owners who bought Craig & Sue Petersen’s boat “Dakota Breeze” take the boat to Aqua Yacht Harbor. We all locked through together and were out by 1:20 p.m. It was a beautiful ride to Iuka Mississippi. The temperatures were in the 40’s but it was warm and cozy inside the boat. It was getting dark as we pulled into the marina, but we have been here before, so we knew where to go. We will stay here for two nights so that Tracy can have a mechanic look at his engine. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix for him and he will be able to continue with us on the Tenn Tom. We got both boats docked and hooked up to shore power. Tracy brought some steaks over and James grilled them for us. Steaks and Baked Potatoes for dinner….yummy delicious!!
